About the owner, Stacy Fontenot
Stacy Fontenot, M.Ed., is the owner of Font to Dot with 19 years of braille transcription experience. After obtaining her Master of Education in Educational Technologies and Adult Education, she pivoted from graphic/website design to braille transcription.
Stacy worked as a copy holder while working towards her Literary Braille Certification in EBAE (English Braille American Edition). After obtaining certification, she worked for 5 years at a school district as a braille transcriber and instructional assistant. During this time at the district, she worked with students, teachers, technology, O&M specialists, and obtained her Nemeth certification and UEB (Unified English Braille) Letter of Proficiency.
Stacy left the district to pursue her goal of owning her own braille transcription business, Font to Dot. In addition to transcription services, Stacy facilitates the online Duxbury User Group with the NIMAC (National Instructional Materials Access Center), is a Tactile Graphic Illustrator with APH's TGIL (American Printing House's Tactile Graphics Image Library), advocates for accessibility practices with authors and publishers, and provides instruction online, privately, and at conventions.
